Arrive with a clean face and with comfortable attire.

Pre-Care

Pre-care for IPL & Photofacials

For up to two weeks before your first IPL photofacial, avoid exposing your skin to any agents that might cause damage or irritation. This means:

  • No tanning
  • No waxing
  • No chemical peels
  • No topical creams with retinol or glycolic acid
  • No excessive sun exposure

Pre-care for Botox & NewTox injections

Try to avoid using substances that may result in the thinning of blood such as ibuprofen or fish oil supplements. However, it's advised that you consult your physician before stopping any medications.

Pre-Care for Laser Hair Removal

The first thing is to make sure that there have been at least two weeks between your first appointment and the last time you went tanning, sunbathing, waxed, or had any kind of injections or chemical peels. Your skin will thank you. You also don't want to apply any kind of lotion or other chemicals to any areas that are being treated, for instance, no deodorant if you're having your underarms tended to. Avoid taking aspirin, some herbal supplements, and anti-inflammatory drugs because they can cause issues with bleeding during treatment. 24 hours before your appointment, you are going to want to shave the area or areas that we are going to treat. Remember, strictly shaving! No waxing, plucking, or depilatory creams. We will need the root of the hair for an effective treatment.

Pre-care for Skin Rejuvenation

While most skin rejuvenation treatments are gentle, there are some that are more aggressive and therefore clients need to consider steps to prepare.

  • Don’t use Retin-A or exfoliators for three days before your treatment.
  • Avoid sun tanning or using tanning creams/sprays during the week beforehand.
  • Wait two to three weeks after getting injectables (including fillers and neurotoxins).
  • Refrain from waxing or tanning the treatment area for a few weeks prior to microdermabrasion.
  • Wash your face and neck with a non-oily, non-soap-based cleanser before your treatment.
  • If you get red welts or hives when scratched you may have a similar reaction after skin rejuvenation treatments. Take oral histamine before your appointment to alleviate it.

Pre-care for Lip Enhancement

Start prepping for your lip injection appointment 10 days in advance by avoiding blood thinners like ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil, or alcohol. This will help reduce side effects like bruising and swelling.

Post-Care

IPL & Photofacials instructions

Patients should use a high factor (30–50 SPF) sun block and protect the treated area from exposure to sunlight for at least one month following treatment. Tanning after treatment sessions may enhance melanin regeneration, which may result in hyperpigmentation. Most patients may apply makeup immediately after treatment. However, we advise patients to stop wearing makeup, if the treatment site scales or cakes. The skin is sensitive during this period, and removing makeup, especially if it is difficult to remove, may damage the skin and predispose the site to infection.  For complete instructions, please visit with one of our providers at Peach Skin & Laser.

Botox & NewTox injections instructions

Don’t manipulate the treated area for 3 hours following treatment and don’t receive facial/ laser treatments or microdermabrasion after Botox injections for at least 14 days. Avoid waxing the area that has been injected for 24 hours. Botox and Newtox injections will take 14 days for complete results to be seen. For complete instructions, please visit with one of our providers at Peach Skin & Laser.

Ice may be applied GENTLY to the area of treatment for swelling and tenderness. Do not keep ice on any one area for more than a few minutes. *Never apply ice directly to the skin. Use of Arnica or Bromelain may help your bruises heal quicker. No rubbing, massaging or manipulating the area of treatment for 2 weeks. This includes facials, massages, facial waxing, and laser treatments unless otherwise instructed by your nurse.
