Start Laser Hair Removal Now and Be Pool Ready by Summer

Dreaming of a summer where constant hair removal isn’t a necessity? If you’re tired of waxing, shaving, and plucking, maybe it’s time to consider laser hair removal. It’s a safe, effective way to achieve hairless legs, pits, and bikini lines, and multiple treatments can reduce or remove your hair’s ability to grow back, eliminating the chore of hair removal.

At Peach Medical Group, with locations in Yuma and Tucson, Arizona, our team of trained aestheticians provides semipermanent to permanent hair removal results using our Triple Pulse® laser hair removal system. This method uses a unique technology to ensure every follicle gets a triple dose of pulsed light to effectively disrupt its ability to grow unwanted hair.

Triple the laser, triple the effect

To get rid of your unwanted body hair, we use Triple Pulse technology, which delivers intense light targeted right at the pigment in your hair follicle. Three powerful, 50-millisecond pulses are delivered in a process that feels like a tingling or snap of a rubber band on your skin.

The heat targets the pigment in your hair which does microscopic damage to the follicle, leaving you without a burn or scar, but also without the ability to regrow the hair. The follicle may slowly heal over time, but you usually won’t see significant hair growth for at least a few months.

Having repeated treatment can eventually remove the follicle’s ability to grow hair at all, leaving your skin smooth and stubble-free. You can get laser hair removal on your:

  • Upper lip
  • Face
  • Underarms
  • Neck
  • Bikini line
  • Back
  • Chest
  • Legs

Both men and women can benefit from laser hair removal. An appointment only takes 10-15 minutes for small areas, and around 30 minutes for larger areas like your back or legs.

Silky smooth skin in time for swimsuit season

The reason you should start the process now to have silky smooth skin by summer is that laser hair removal takes around three treatments spaced several weeks apart to target all of your hair follicles, due to there being three stages of hair growth. The laser targets the active growth stage, meaning follicles in a transitional or resting stage won’t be affected.

You also can’t be exposed too much to direct sunlight on the treatment area for six weeks before and after treatment. This means winter is the best time to have laser hair removal because there’s time to get three treatments in and recuperate fully before pool season starts.

Before your treatment

Don’t wax your hair or use any other hair removal method that takes your hair out by the root for at least a week or two before treatment. Also, don’t tan, as lasers work best on pale skin. (Have a darker complexion? You can still get laser hair removal, it just might take an extra treatment or two.) Do shave a day or two before your treatment since even short stubble will still transmit heat down to the follicle.
